AMVETS Post 9 is the heartbeat of the veteran community in Bismarck. For over 75 years, the Roy C. Wagner Post has stood as a testament to the courage of those who served, providing a home for fellowship, advocacy, and unwavering service to the Peace Garden State.

Established in the wake of World War II and officially part of the first WWII organization to be chartered by Congress in 1947, Post 9 has been a fixture of Bismarck’s history for decades.
Named in honor of Roy C. Wagner, our Post was built on the principle that no veteran should ever stand alone.
From our early days supporting returning soldiers to our modern role as a hub for the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 150 and the American Legion Post 1, we remain dedicated to preserving the freedom and dignity of all who served.

The "Post 9" Timeline:
- 1947: AMVETS receives its Congressional Charter; Post 9 begins its mission in Bismarck.
- Community Anchor: Became the primary meeting location for multiple veteran service organizations in Burleigh County.
- Today: Continuing the legacy through the Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of AMVETS, and the AMVETS Riders.

Very Nice establishment! Clean. Plenty of room to accommodate a large number of guests, members. Dawn (Dealing) at the Blackjack was very friendly & loquacious. $3 minimum Blackjack. Well stocked bar. Lots of available parking!

Food was great and so was the service! Dinner is served every night 6 to 8 I believe. It's generally forgot about as a place to go and have something to eat. But pricing is great and so is the food.

We were there again New Years Day. We paid a few bucks to get in but, they had a great lunch and what a variety of food! They had hot tom & jerry's and they weren't weak! They had live music and the people were dancin. It was a good time! We talked to people we knew and it helped make our New Years Day!
